Black-billed Magpie
Pica hudsonia. Pesky. Obnoxious. Despicable. Noisy....the black-billed Magpie is not a loved creature. They are the first to arrive at roadkill or at a fresh kill by a predator. They rob nests of song birds. They are aggressive and have a harsh, nasal call that is anything but pleasant. You get the idea: good looking; but unwelcome. Still, Claude Monet liked them enough to create the painting "the Magpie" when he lived in Normandy.
