Corvus corax. Often seen soaring near bluffs or engaging in aerial acrobatics, Ravens are among the smartest of birds. They have a wide range of calls, from long, loud squawks to resonant thumps. Adults are roughly 2 feet long with a 50-55 inch wingspan; they weigh 2.5 to 3 pounds.
