Roosevelt elk(Cervus canadensis roosevelti were transplanted in Alaska in 1929. They are now found on both Afognak and Raspberry islands near Kodiak. Bull elk on Afognak can weigh as much as 1300lbs; cow elk are smaller and do not have antlers. order image MEKB2002
