A Rare Occurence

Sunshine on St George Island in the Bering Sea. St George along with St Paul Island comprise the Pribilof Islands; they are located near giant underwater canyons that are the source of food for much of the marine life in the north Pacific. Prior to World War II St George was known primarily for its fur seal harvesting trade and thousands of fur seals still use its rocky beaches for breeding sites.
