Male Snowy Owl
Male Snowy Owls are generally slightly smaller than females and
are nearly pure white, with up to 3 rust colored bands on the tail. Snowy Owls are sight feeders and are generally active during daylight hours. Brood sizes are dependent on availability of food; when lemmings and voles are abundant, Snowy Owls will lay between 8 and 12 eggs.
