The Far North

This is the marker at a pullout on the Dempster Highway. The Dempster runs from about 25 miles northwest of Dawson City, Yukon Territories to Inuvik, Northwest Territories, a distance of 456 miles. A mostly gravel road, it is, nonetheless, well maintained and in the summer and fall provides generally good driving conditions. The scenery and the hiking and camping opportunities are nothing short of spectacular.
